3.5" vs 3" Driveshaft?

Got home from Thanksgiving trip - No work done on the roadster - (2) driveshafts are 3" OD and 3.5" OD.  Forum says that they are both fine.  3" may be easier to fit in driveshaft collar.  Driveshaft will be so short, it wont matter.
